All-on-6 cost in the UK
There's no national price list for full-arch implants in the UK. Here's the best published benchmark, what it leaves out, and how to compare UK quotes fairly.
In the UK, All-on-6 is almost always private. A survey of 25+ UK implant dentists, published in 2017, found a full arch of teeth on implants averaged £13,425 per jaw, with quotes from £9,000 to £25,400. Those fees excluded consultations, scans, extractions and grafts. For both jaws that is £26,850 before extras, at 2016 prices.
The best published UK figure
The survey asked more than 25 UK implant dentists what they charged. It's the most useful public benchmark we've found, but treat it with care:
- It's per jaw. Both jaws means roughly twice the figure.
- It's dated. The survey was carried out in autumn 2016 and published in 2017. Fees are likely to be higher today.
- It leaves things out. Consultations, treatment planning, scans, extractions and grafting were not included.
- It covers "a full arch bridge or denture" on implants, not specifically six implants with a fixed bridge.
Why the NHS rarely pays
The NHS says implants are usually only available privately and are expensive. They're occasionally provided on the NHS for patients who can't wear dentures for specific reasons, such as after mouth cancer or an accident. For most people, the NHS option for missing teeth is a denture, charged within Band 3 (currently £332.10 in England).
What makes a UK quote higher or lower
- Where you live. Fees vary between cities and regions.
- The implant brand and system. Long-established brands usually cost more.
- The bridge material. Zirconia usually costs more than acrylic. See the cost of each.
- What's bundled in. Scans, extractions, temporary teeth and reviews may be included or extra.
- Your bone. A graft or sinus lift adds cost, wherever you're treated.
What the UK price usually buys you
Being treated near home has real value that doesn't show on a quote. Appointments are a short journey away, the same dentist handles any problem, and you can complain to the UK regulator if needed. The Oral Health Foundation notes that treatment at home may be more affordable than it first appears, especially where payment plans are available, fewer trips are needed or follow-up care is included.
Comparing a UK quote with one from abroad
Put both quotes into the calculator. It adds flights, hotel nights, extras and aftercare to the overseas quote, so the comparison is fair. Then read what goes into a Turkey price.
Common questions
Can I get All-on-6 on the NHS?
Rarely. The NHS says implants are usually only available privately and are expensive. They are sometimes available on the NHS for patients who cannot wear dentures for certain reasons, such as mouth cancer or an accident.
What does the NHS offer instead?
Dentures. In England, dentures fall within NHS Band 3, currently £332.10 for a course of treatment. They are removable, not fixed like All-on-6.
Why do UK prices vary so much?
Location, the dentist's experience, the implant brand, the bridge material, and whether scans, extractions, temporary teeth and grafts are included all change the total.
Will the NHS pay me back for treatment abroad?
No. The NHS states that you cannot get reimbursement for dental treatment abroad.
